MARAWI CITY, LANAO DEL SUR – Adiong Memorial State College (AMSC) proudly marked National ICT Month 2025 with a highly successful Cybersecurity Awareness and eGOV ph App Orientation, held as part of its ongoing commitment to digital literacy and public service. The event, themed "Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan," underscored AMSC's dedication to ensuring no one is left behind in the nation's digital transformation.
The orientation, which saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, aimed to equip attendees with essential knowledge and skills to navigate the digital landscape safely and efficiently. With the increasing reliance on online platforms for various transactions and information dissemination, the college recognized the critical need for heightened cybersecurity awareness.
A team of experts headed by Engr. Amalsalih Moti Asum from the field office of DICT-12- Lanao del Sur delivered insightful presentations on common cyber threats, best practices for protecting personal information online, and recognizing phishing attempts. Participants learned intellectual tips for creating strong passwords, identifying secure websites, and safeguarding their digital identities.
A significant highlight of the event was the comprehensive orientation on the eGOV ph App as lectured by Sir Bukhari Maunda from the Department of Information, Communication and Technology (DICT). This session provided a step-by-step guide on how to utilize the government's official digital platform for accessing various public services, facilitating transactions, and staying informed about government programs. The eGOV ph App aims to streamline interactions between citizens and government agencies, promoting greater convenience and transparency.
"As we push forward with digital transformation in government services, we must ensure that no one is left behind. Whether in urban centers or remote barangays, everyone deserves equal access to secure and efficient online platforms," stated by Dr. Sherifa Rohannie K. Adiong, AMSC President who is now currently in Istanbul, Turkey for the Global Sustainable Development Congress. This opening remarks was thoroughly delivered by the Dr. Sittienor C. Abubakar, the Dean of the College of Education.
The initiative aligns with the national observance of ICT Month, which promotes the growth and utilization of information and communications technology for national development. AMSC's proactive approach reflects its vision for a more digitally inclusive and secure community.

The event was hosted by Sir Abdul Rafie Masbud and formally closed by Prof. Junaid B. Ahmad, the current Dean of the College of Information Technology (CIT) before twelve o’clock at noontime.
